Sapna Pahil

Dr Sapna did her PhD in Medical Microbiology from PGIMER, Chandigarh, India in the area of reverse vaccinology and identified vaccine candidates against multiple serotypes of Shigella. She did her postdoc from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA in understanding host-pathogen interactions of UTI pathogen Proteus mirabilis. She developed a Tn-Seq library to understand the genes involved in Proteus pathogenesis. She is working now on understanding the role of gut microbiome dysbiosis in renal transplant diarrhea. She is interested in exploring the role of gut microbiome dysbiosis in various disease pathologies including exploring gut-brain axis in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
