Alan Walker
Professor Alan Walker is a microbiologist at the Rowett Institute at the University of Aberdeen. His research focuses on the mechanistic understanding of the interactions between host diet and the intestinal microbiota of humans and animals. He has extensive experience working in the field of anaerobic microbiology and DNA sequencing technologies from his time at the renowned Wellcome Sanger Institute in Cambridge. Alan’s research now aims to uncover the factors that may contribute to host health, using a combination of bioinformatics and bench work.
